Chris makes wheel thrown pottery from Western North Carolina clay. Taking a break from his professional cooking career, he began pottery classes after his second daughter was born, and continued them while he was a stay at home dad. He spent many nights in a small shed in his backyard practicing and improving his skills. Three years later, after the restaurant he worked for was completely destroyed by Hurricane Helene, he is relying on his pottery to give him a second chance. He makes functional pieces inspired by simplicity. He leans on his degree in Chemistry and his many years working in restaurants in Austin and New York City to give him a unique perspective when it comes to creating clay vessels and objects for utilitarian use.

Originally from Scotland, Chris now lives in Asheville, North Carolina with his family.
